Juice up your Camera
Its the little things
Taking inspiration from a great game dev talk called Juice it or Lose it about juicing up your game with adding subtle camera effects / reactions (in my scenario to movement itself) which had compounding affects on the feel of the game.
Also taking inspiration from what Motokura said on "Super Mario: Odyssey" about making the simple act of moving feel fun
“when you touch the controls and there’s that kind of intuitive [feeling]—you move Mario, and it’s fun!
With / Without Juice
Compare movement without any juice (left) vs juiced (right) while additive affects aren't required for the movements to be performed, they add a much more believable and fun feel to the simple act of moving around the world.

Similarly with slide (in both situations the capsule is lowered, but in the non juiced version you can see how akward it is to just leave the camera be during it)

In Summary
don't be afraid to add weird little affects to your camera, even if subtle they might add a heck of a lot in the long run.
